Doctors reminded about the importance of vaccinating children against measles, mumps, and rubella

The Republican Center for Strengthening Health and Mass Communication of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has emphasized that measles is a highly contagious viral disease transmitted through respiratory droplets.

Only unvaccinated individuals who have come into contact with a person infected with measles, even for a moment, can catch the infection.

According to the immunization schedule in Kyrgyzstan, the MMR vaccination should be administered to children at the ages of 12 months and 2 years. This vaccine protects children against measles, mumps, and rubella.

Measles, mumps, and rubella are viral infections that are easily transmitted through coughing and sneezing. These diseases can resemble a cold; however, they are accompanied by rashes all over the body and painful swelling.

It should be noted that children who have not received the MMR vaccination are at increased risk during outbreaks of these diseases.
