“With the help of modern technologies, criminals can create fake video addresses, posing as well-known individuals, including the president. These videos are produced using artificial intelligence technologies (deepfake) and are aimed at misleading citizens. The main goal of such materials is to gain trust and persuade people to transfer money or disclose personal information,” the statement notes.
The police recommend:
- to avoid trusting videos from unfamiliar and unreliable sources;
- to verify information only through official channels of government bodies;
- not to click on suspicious links;
- not to send money or share personal information based on internet videos.
Criminals exploit citizens' trust, and the agency emphasizes the importance of vigilance and information verification to avoid deception.
