At a recent meeting organized by the Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mirbek Mambetaliev, important issues concerning archaeological research and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage amid active construction were discussed.

The minister emphasized the need for coordinated actions to ensure the timely execution of research and suggested selecting one district from each region for more in-depth analysis.

Archaeologists highlighted that successful work requires support from government bodies, especially regarding timely access to necessary maps and documentation related to land resources.

According to archaeologist Kunbolot Akmatov, a study covering an area of 50,000 hectares was conducted in the Manas district of the Talas region in 2025, resulting in the discovery of over 3,000 new heritage sites.

At the end of the meeting, the minister noted the importance of continuing work this year, proposing to focus on one district in each of the seven regions.
