Askhat Alagozov, the press secretary of the president, held a meeting with a student from Japan named Aiya, who has gained popularity among Kyrgyzstani people due to her passion for national culture.

Aiya arrived in Kyrgyzstan in 2025. During her stay, she not only mastered the language but also learned to play the komuz skillfully. Her videos in traditional clothing have become real hits, delighting social media users.

“I saw you in a report on the national television channel. You are not just studying here, but also actively exploring our culture and sharing it with the Japanese audience. Your efforts have been warmly received by both myself and the entire people of Kyrgyzstan. Your example demonstrates how friendship between our countries is strengthening,” noted Alagozov.

Aiya spoke about her studies at the Kyrgyz National University and her work at the Kyrgyz-Japanese Center, where she began to learn the komuz. The girl noted that she particularly likes the word “kooz,” which translates to “beautiful.” She also managed to visit places such as Issyk-Kul and Son-Kul, and the village of Arashan became her favorite due to its picturesque nature.

At the end of the meeting, Askhat Alagozov presented Aiya with the book "The White Steamship" by Chinghiz Aitmatov. She promised to continue introducing her compatriots to Kyrgyzstan.

It should be noted that Japanese students and volunteers are very well-liked by Kyrgyzstani people: their respectful attitude towards traditions, knowledge of the language, and sincerity always evoke positive emotions among the locals.
