More than 2.5 million people underwent free screening for viral hepatitis

In Kyrgyzstan, free screening for viral hepatitis has been conducted for more than 2.5 million people. Deputy Minister of Health Bakytbek Kadyraliev reported this at a meeting of the parliamentary committee that deals with labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues.

Since the beginning of 2023 until February 2026, 2 million 506 thousand 791 citizens have undergone screening. During the screening, 40 thousand 942 cases of hepatitis B, 23 thousand 39 cases of hepatitis C, and 1 thousand 67 cases of hepatitis D were identified.

Kadyraliev also noted that citizens with negative test results are referred for free vaccination, while those with positive results receive treatment at family medicine centers.

Additionally, in collaboration with the Center for Electronic Health, a registry of patients suffering from viral hepatitis has been created.

In 2025, preventive work covered more than 1.5 million residents of Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Ministry of Health.
