At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 25, Damirbek Osmonov reported on the personnel shortage in the healthcare sector. The republic has 19,000 doctors, but only 13,500 of them are actually working.

According to Osmonov, attracting doctors to remote areas poses a serious problem, as many specialists prefer to live in cities where it is more comfortable for their families.

He suggested that to address this issue, it is necessary to start attracting doctors during their training in residency. Graduated specialists who have completed their residency can work voluntarily during the training period, but they should still receive a salary. After completing their education, they should be required to work in peripheral healthcare institutions for one to two years.
