During the discussion of Damirbek Osmonov's candidacy for the position of Minister of Health, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh emphasized the need to address staffing issues in the healthcare sector. In their opinion, the shortage of qualified specialists in the regions negatively affects the quality of medical services.

The acting minister stressed that attracting doctors to remote areas is a challenging task. Many specialists prefer to work in cities, considering their own comfort and the well-being of their families.

“It is important to start addressing this problem during education, during the residency period. Doctors who complete their residency become certified specialists. However, they do not receive funding for their education, and some are even forced to pay for it themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to provide residents with a salary and, after completing their education, send them to the regions for one to two years. This will help resolve the staffing issue,” said Damirbek Osmonov.
