Starting from February 26, an exhibition titled "Roerich Herald of Beauty. The Master, the Son of the Master" will open in Bishkek. It is dedicated to the centenary of Nikolai Roerich's Central Asian expedition and the centenary anniversary of Lyudmila Shaposhnikova, the founder of the International Roerich Center located in Moscow. This information is reported on the official website of the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.

As noted, in 1989, Svyatoslav Roerich, a famous artist and scholar, returned his parents' legacy from India to their homeland, establishing a center-museum in Moscow named after Nikolai Roerich. Lyudmila Shaposhnikova was appointed as Svyatoslav's trusted representative and took the position of the museum's permanent director.

Lyudmila Shaposhnikova is not only a respected scholar in Oriental studies and a writer but also a philosopher, traveler, and a distinguished figure in the arts of the Russian Federation. She is also an honorary member of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and headed the museum named after Nikolai Roerich from 1990 to 2015.

From 1975 to 1980, she independently retraced the route of Roerich's Central Asian expedition (excluding China). The result of this unique journey was the photo album "From Altai to the Himalayas," in which Shaposhnikova showcased her skills not only as an author of captivating texts but also as a talented photographer.

The total number of Shaposhnikova's works includes 35 books and over 500 articles dedicated to the activities of the Roerich family, as well as the culture and history of the peoples of India.
