Local activist and district resident Mirbek Maniyasov shared his memories of the photograph, which he found in his archive.
“At that time, there was only one photo studio in Sokuluk, where a creative group gathered for a group photo after the district singing competition,” noted Maniyasov.
In this photograph, you can see future member of the Jogorku Kenesh, Edita Taygaraeva, who was only four years old at the time. She ended up in the photo studio after participating in the competition and captured this moment alongside the adult participants.
According to Maniyasov, the photograph depicts the creative group that participated in the singing competition. After the event concluded, they decided to take a group photo in the only photo studio in the district.
Mirbek Maniyasov also added interesting details about the shot:
“Along with little Edita in the photo is her grandmother. My mother is also present here. The person with the accordion worked as a veterinarian in our village for many years. Next to him, sitting in the same row, is Sadyr Kolkhobekovich, who was then the head of the ayil okmotu and later headed the office of the Sokuluk district state administration. E. Taygaraeva showed an interest in music from a young age and actively participated in various competitions and events,” he added.
