On February 25, a screening of the multi-part documentary project "Dominic West: Kyrgyzstan," also known as "On the Other Side of the Great Silk Road," took place in London. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy.
Present at the event were the creators of the film, as well as a delegation from the international cultural community and honored guests.
The audience was introduced to the film by personalities such as Alexandra Tolstaya, Clarke Peters, and Dominic West himself.
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, Timurlan Azhimaliev, also spoke at the premiere.
He emphasized the significance of the project for international cultural dialogue and noted how important it is to promote Kyrgyzstan as a country with a rich historical heritage and unique culture on the world stage.
About the project’s features
The documentary series "Dominic West: Kyrgyzstan" is dedicated to the journey of the famous British actor along the historical routes of the Great Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan.
Through the lens of his narrative, the film reveals the characteristics of Kyrgyz culture, nature, history, and modernity.
The journey begins in Bishkek with a visit to the Osh Bazaar and Ala-Too Square, and then immerses into the epic of "Manas."
The route then covers Kara-Suu, the Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve, the Kara-Kamish jailoo, Tash-Rabat, the At-Bashinsky district, and the Torugart Pass — key locations on the Great Silk Road.
