The State Nature Reserve of Padysha-Ata, located in the Aksy district of the Jalal-Abad region, has become a popular destination for tourists due to its clean air, majestic mountains, and crystal-clear rushing waters. In the summer, this reserve is visited by hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of people. However, it is in winter that nature reveals its beauty in full force. A Turmush correspondent captured the stunning winter landscapes of this place.

According to information received from a representative of one of the public organizations, in 2025, the number of foreign tourists visiting the region increased by 35-40% compared to previous years. Last year, many tourists from Uzbekistan and European countries visited picturesque places such as Sary-Chelek, Kara-Kamysh, Padysha-Ata, and Arstanbap.

“We cannot accurately count the number of tourists crossing the border into Kyrgyzstan, as not all of them register as tourists. We can only analyze data from guesthouses in the region. According to our observations, the number of foreign guests has increased by 35-40% compared to previous years. We also have many plans for this year,” she noted.

The Padysha-Ata Reserve is a protected natural area in southern Kyrgyzstan, established in 2003 and covering an area of 30 hectares. This reserve is home to walnuts, apple trees, apricots, cherries, hawthorns, junipers, and medicinal herbs. Here, one can encounter argali, mountain goats, roe deer, wolves, foxes, as well as rare birds such as the golden eagle, the itelgi, and the falcon.
