In Bishkek, the city administration reminds all users of personal mobility devices about the importance of adhering to safety rules. The city authorities urge both local residents and tourists to approach road safety issues responsibly, fostering a culture of respect and order on the streets of the capital.
With the onset of the warm season, there has been an increase in interest in the use of personal mobility devices such as electric scooters and bicycles, as well as in short-term rental services.
In this regard, a meeting was held under the leadership of Ilyas Kolopov, head of the city administration, with representatives of car-sharing companies providing electric scooter rental services in the city.
During the meeting, current issues regarding the alignment of operators' activities with the law and traffic regulations were discussed, as well as the need to ensure order in the use of electric scooters in urban conditions.
Participants in the meeting were given recommendations to strengthen control over users of rental services, including the introduction of sanctions for those who violate traffic rules. Special attention was paid to the necessity of creating effective accountability mechanisms, up to temporary or complete restrictions on access to electric scooter rentals through mobile applications for violators.
