The designer-layout artist received special permission
Ernist Zheentaev, convicted for inciting mass riots, received special permission from President Sadyr Japarov, allowing him to temporarily leave the detention center. This permission was granted so that the designer could attend the funeral of his mother, who passed away on February 26. The information was provided by his relatives.
The funeral services are scheduled for tomorrow in the village of Temir, located in the Issyk-Kul region. Relatives and friends have expressed their condolences to the Zheentaev family.
It should be noted that Zheentaev previously worked in several media outlets. He was arrested in November 2025 for his publications on social media. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced him to six years in prison under part 3 of article 278 and part 1 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The defense plans to appeal this sentence.
