Kyrgyzstan expresses concern about the negative impact of sanctions on trade cooperation with the United Kingdom

A recent meeting in the format of "Central Asia-United Kingdom" took place in London.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, participated in this ministerial meeting, as reported by the press service of the ministry.

Also present at the event were the foreign ministers from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev noted that Central Asia occupies an important geopolitical position, being located between Asia and Europe, and possessing significant energy resources, human potential, and transit capabilities.

Regarding the sanctions imposed by the United Kingdom, the minister expressed concern about their potential negative impact on the trade, economic, and financial ties of Central Asian countries with the United Kingdom.

He also emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is against the politicization of international economic relations and is open to constructive dialogue to find mutually beneficial solutions.
