From February 28 to March 5, 2026, there is a high probability of avalanches, snowdrifts, and ice formation in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan. This information has been provided by the Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It is reported that during the specified period, unstable weather will be observed in the region, which may complicate movement on some highways of the country.
Among the most risky sections are:
- the Bishkek–Osh highway at sections 121–138 km (Töö-Ashuu pass) and 198–265 km (Chychkan gorge, Ala-Bel pass);
- the Myrza-Ake–Kara-Kulja–Alakuu highway at 55–115 km;
- the Ala-Buka–Kanysh-Kyya highway at 45–112 km (Chapchyma pass);
- the Krasnaya-Gorka–Ak-Tash highway at 0–3 km;
- the Bishkek–Naryn–Torugart highway at 292–305 km (Dolon pass);
- the Balikchy–Kazarmin–Jalal-Abad highway at 201–205, 260–290, and 326–349 km (Kök-Art pass);
- the Karakol–Enilchek highway at 45–90 km (Chong-Ashuu pass).
