A previously convicted activist for "Mass Riots" and "Public Calls for Violent Seizure of Power" has been released on probation.
According to information provided by the Supreme Court, activist Azamat Maripov has received probation.
The duration of the probation is three years.
In October 2025, he was found guilty of charges related to "Mass Riots" and "Public Calls for Violent Seizure of Power," for which he was sentenced to six years in prison.
Maripov is known for his critical statements against Kanaybek Tumanbaev, the head of the presidential administration. The official claims that the activist asked him for $13,000 for a wedding and later began to blackmail him along with a group of people.
Additionally, in April 2024, Maripov found himself at the center of another criminal case, where he is suspected of beating and unlawfully detaining a resident of the capital.
It is worth noting that Azamat is the brother of Kudret Taychabarov, the former head of the Tourism Development Fund, who is currently under investigation and in custody on suspicion of connections with an organized criminal group.
