According to the information from the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, this year it is planned to cultivate 1 million 250 thousand hectares as part of the spring plowing. Currently, plowing has been completed on an area of 196.3 thousand hectares, which is equivalent to 15.7% of the total plan. For comparison, this is 39.9 thousand hectares more than in the same period last year.
Results by region:
Batken region — 36.5% completed (24.5 thousand hectares).
Chui region — 25.8% (107.0 thousand hectares).
Osh region — 24.2% (43.8 thousand hectares).
Jalal-Abad region — 11%.
Issyk-Kul region — 1.5%.
Talas region — 0.3%.
Naryn region — work has not yet begun.
Seeding of spring grains: the plan is 519.3 thousand hectares, with 115.6 thousand hectares actually sown (22.3%).
Wheat — 34.6 thousand hectares (34.9% of the plan).
Barley — 80.5 thousand hectares (32.6% of the plan).
Corn — seeding has not yet begun.
Other crops:
Potatoes — the plan is 66.4 thousand hectares, with 2.7 thousand hectares sown (4.1%).
Vegetables — 0.1 thousand hectares.
Rice — 0.005 thousand hectares.
Sugar beet — work is mainly being carried out in the Chui region: with a plan of 14.5 thousand hectares, 0.4 thousand hectares have been sown (2.76%).
Thus, the most active work is being carried out in the Batken, Chui, and Osh regions, while in the northern and mountainous regions, the sowing campaign is just beginning.
