According to the expert, grain crops and sugar beets hold leading positions in the list of products necessary to ensure the country’s food security. At the same time, the highest profits currently come from raspberries, strawberries, and corn.
Farmers focusing on these crops are recommended to implement drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. The government supports the introduction of effective irrigation methods by providing subsidies and preferential loans with low interest rates.
Recent observations have shown that with the increase in livestock in the republic, there is also a rise in the cultivation of forage crops such as barley and corn.
Turatbek Idrisov added that before the start of spring fieldwork, the following actions need to be taken:
- conduct a soil condition analysis;
- apply mineral fertilizers according to established norms;
- check seeds for purity;
- conduct an examination to assess the feasibility of sowing the chosen crop.
Specialists from the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture emphasize that the success of the future harvest directly depends on the quality of preparation of both the land and the seed material.
