In Toktogul, located in the Jalal-Abad region, archival photographs of buildings and organizations constructed about half a century ago have been preserved, reports Turmush correspondent.

According to available data, these institutions were built between 1969 and 1973 by order of A.N. Kosygin, who at that time held the position of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Decree No. 1805 was signed on August 28, 1968.

At that time, Toktogul had the status of a "town-type settlement." As part of the improvement of living conditions for residents, residential buildings with a total area of 120 square meters were constructed.

During this time, several factories, a bus depot, the regional association "Kyrgyzselbkhoztekhnika," as well as various enterprises such as RDSU, MSO, PKM, and RSU, along with administrative buildings, were also built.

As a result of this construction program, 16 new villages were established, and about 4,500 standard and residential houses were built. In addition, a House of Culture, medical facilities, kindergartens, and schools were opened.

The most significant structure built during this period was the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station, located on the Naryn River.
