Two minor orphans from Naryn, with the support of the ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic, were able to receive the inheritance left by their mother. The institute reported that the children received a certificate of inheritance rights, which allowed them to register a land plot of 58 hundredths.
The appeal to the ombudsman was made by pensioner K.G., who, after the death of her son and former daughter-in-law, took her grandchildren under her care, who were 14 and 15 years old at the time. Upon learning of the existence of a land plot registered in their mother's name, the grandmother decided to register it in the children's name as first-order heirs.
However, the deceased's relatives began to contest the rights to the plot and were unwilling to provide the necessary documents. Institute staff explained to the grandmother how to properly approach the court and assisted her in gathering all the required paperwork. Additionally, at the direction of the ombudsman, the legal aid service provided the pensioner with a free lawyer from the state fund. An inquiry to the regional branch of the State Agency for Land Resources confirmed the existence of the plot.
After filing a lawsuit in court, the opponents agreed to a settlement.
