At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 21, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev made a request to postpone the licensing deadlines for taxi drivers by six months. He noted that government agencies are not able to prepare the necessary permits by February 1.

Bekeshev also emphasized the need to revise the requirements for drivers, including the mandatory possession of a military ID, medical certificates, and certificates of no criminal record. According to him, the Ministry of Internal Affairs itself requires these documents, forcing drivers to spend time obtaining them. This could negatively impact the unemployment rate if the procedure remains so strict. The deputy appealed to the president's representative in parliament, Almasbek Abytov, urging to simplify the licensing process.
