An employee of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," which is managed by the Bishkek city administration, was detained by the State Committee for National Security for receiving a bribe of 1 million soms.
The detention took place on January 19, 2026, when the suspect was caught red-handed. The investigation revealed that some employees of the government procurement department regularly demanded 10% of the total tender amount as a bribe. In return, they promised to expedite the transfer of funds and not create obstacles for the execution of work.
As a result of operational measures, an employee known by the initials "A.K.Sh." was detained and placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
Investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement agencies are examining the actions of municipal officials and searching for other possible participants in this corruption scheme.
