On January 25, 2026, the Minister of Transport and Communications Abdykarim Syrgabaev checked the current state of construction work on the Northern Bypass Road of Bishkek. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In order to improve road conditions for citizens and reduce the likelihood of traffic jams, three two-level interchanges located at 230-236 km of the Almaty-Bishkek - Tashkent highway were temporarily opened. Asphalt laying work will resume with the start of the spring season.
Currently, the contractor responsible for the construction of the first six-lane road continues earthworks on the remaining sections, following winter construction standards.
Syrgabaev emphasized the importance of adhering to quality construction standards and the schedule for completing the work.
The Ministry of Transport also reminded that the total length of the Northern Bypass Road of Bishkek is 33.4 km. This year, it is planned to complete the reconstruction of 15 km of the road, including 6 km on the Almaty-Bishkek-Tashkent section and 9.1 km on the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart section.
