According to the amendments to the Law "On Communications," initiated by the government, communication operators will be required to temporarily block all services at the request of the FSB to protect the "interests of the security of citizens and the state," while not bearing any responsibility to users.
Information about the preparation of these amendments emerged back in November. Before the discussion in the State Duma, the Telegram channel Faridaily noted that these changes effectively give the FSB the authority to disconnect any communication, including not only mobile internet but also landline communication and telephone lines.
