The Speaker of the Parliament spoke about what the new anthem of Kyrgyzstan should be

The rejected options were supposed to meet the criteria of simplicity and accessibility for performance

At a plenary session of the parliament, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, shared his views on a new anthem for Kyrgyzstan. Previously, various versions of the anthem, including lyrics and music, were proposed at one of the committees, but they did not pass the selection.

According to the speaker, an important task for the deputies is not only to replace the anthem but also to create a truly worthy option that will be accessible for performance by all citizens of the country.

“The goal is not just to replace the anthem, but to create one that can be performed by both a child and an elderly person. I would like to address the authors in the next competition: most of the submitted texts have a march-like style. However, a march is not a genre that everyone can perform. We need to avoid the march style and write more easily, like in the songs ‘Mekeniim Meykin’ and ‘Kyrgyz Zheri’. This way, the anthem can be sung not only at official events but also at toyi,” noted Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.

It is worth reminding that the initiator of changing the national anthem was the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh himself. Following this, a competition was announced to create new lyrics and music for the anthem of Kyrgyzstan. Work in this direction continues, and the competition will be repeated taking into account the feedback received.
