The proposed options cannot be considered as full-fledged solutions
Today, a meeting of the committee dealing with constitutional legislation, state structure, and local self-government was held in the Jogorku Kenesh. The agenda included a draft of the new text and music of the State Anthem of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the discussion, members of the commission responsible for selecting the best anthem option, headed by the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, were present.
Kurmanqul Zulushev, the committee chairman, noted that three options for the text and music of the anthem were presented to the parliament. He emphasized that none of the proposed options surpassed the current anthem in terms of content, text, or musical solution and, therefore, cannot be considered a full-fledged solution.
Minister Mambetaliev spoke about the work of the commission and emphasized that the selection was an important task. Commission members Chynara Umetalieva and Syrtbay Musaev added that creating an anthem is not a task for every composer. "Over the past year, we analyzed all the submitted works and selected three options," they noted.
Deputy Nurlanbek Azygaliev expressed the opinion that the anthem should inspire citizens and reflect common values. He suggested extending the competition to provide opportunities for other authors to present stronger and more suitable works that align with the significance of the anthem.
As a result of the discussion, the committee recommended that the Jogorku Kenesh reject all three options for the text and music of the anthem.
