None of the proposed options for the new national anthem of Kyrgyzstan received approval, said Kurmankul Zulushiev, chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Constitutional Legislation, commenting on the decision to reject the anthem options.

According to Zulushiev, the deputies reviewed three versions of the anthem, evaluating both the text and the musical accompaniment. However, none of the presented projects were deemed sufficient, and the committee decided to reject them, setting a deadline for revisions.

He added that the competition commission will continue its work, and the initiators will be able to submit revised versions of the anthem as soon as they meet the necessary standards for a state symbol. It is expected that the revision period may take from 3 to 6 months, and the final decision on this matter will be made by parliament.

When asked about the feasibility of replacing the anthem, the deputy replied that he sees no need for it. "If the new anthem is not adopted, the current anthem will remain in force. It will cease to be effective only if a new anthem is adopted. In my opinion, the current anthem is quite acceptable," noted Zulushiev.

He also emphasized that the committee's decision will be presented at a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, where parliamentarians will be able to support it or propose alternative solutions. Ultimately, the decision will rest with parliament.
