The Minister of Culture, Mirbek Mambetaliev, reported that from February 7 to March 20, about 700 proposals were received. However, the commission, after evaluating all the submitted works, concluded that none of them met the established requirements, which led to the cancellation of the competition. It was subsequently decided to divide the competition into two stages: in the first stage, five texts were selected, and in the second stage, music for these texts was chosen. As a result, five texts with musical accompaniment were selected, three of which were presented at the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
To ensure the transparency of the process, the names of the authors and composers remain unknown, as the works are evaluated under a code. The deputies listened to the three presented versions of the anthem.
The chairman of the committee, Kurmankul Zulushiev, noted that the proposed versions do not surpass the current anthem in terms of text, content, or musical arrangement, and therefore cannot be considered as full-fledged candidates.
As a result of the discussion, the committee recommended that the Jogorku Kenesh reject all three presented versions of the text and music for the new national anthem of the country.
