Dayirbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy service of the presidential administration, expressed his opinion on the current situation with driving schools and the process of obtaining driver's licenses.
He noted that recently, issues related to driving schools and obtaining licenses have been actively discussed in society. President Sadyr Japarov recently elaborated on the reasons behind these discussions in an interview.
Orunbekov added that earlier, some private driving schools expressed their dissatisfaction online, spreading false information and involving journalists to voice their perspective. He believes that the president's recent interview resolved all the disputes that had arisen.
Moreover, he emphasized that those who organized the protest campaign spread rumors that driving lessons would cost 100 or even 200 thousand soms. This information is not true.
Currently, the officially approved cost of training is 19 thousand soms. It is important to note that students will pay for fuel expenses during practical lessons themselves.
This is significantly lower compared to previous prices in private driving schools, where the total cost of theoretical and practical training reached about 35–36 thousand soms,” he concluded.
