The head of the presidential administration shared his opinion on the reform of private driving schools
Kanibek Tumanbaev, head of the presidential administration, expressed his opinion on social media regarding changes related to driving education and private driving schools.
He noted that some educational institutions have already expressed dissatisfaction with the upcoming reforms.
“It must be acknowledged that previously in private driving schools there was an opportunity to buy a driver's license, which led to numerous traffic accidents. Recently, a person died as a result of a road conflict, highlighting the lack of basic driving culture. Driving schools do not pay enough attention to the training process. There is chaos on the roads. How many people have already died? How many have become disabled? Every accident is a broken fate, the suffering of parents, and the tears of children. If we compare the statistics of 2024 and 2025, the number of accidents has increased. This is not a coincidence, but a systemic problem that has long been ignored,” he expressed his opinion.
Tumanbaev also emphasized that the heads and owners of driving schools were notified in advance about the changes.
“We held a meeting at 'Yntymak Ordo' and informed about the upcoming reforms. Excuses like 'we didn't know' are not accepted. Everyone is aware of the training methods in driving schools. Many students take the theoretical exam several times. Often, drivers do not even know the basic traffic rules. We do not want to criticize all instructors; among them, there are those who are genuinely dedicated to their work... However, reforms are necessary to ensure quality driver education. Therefore, students will be trained in those driving schools that will be under state control. In mid-February, we will start accepting applications. Of course, our measures may cause dissatisfaction among those who built their business on selling driver's licenses,” he concluded.
