In Kyrgyzstan, the implementation of the concept of "cattle camps" has begun, aimed at reducing the load on pastures located near settlements. This was reported by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to his statement, from April 15 to September 15, there are restrictions on grazing livestock in close proximity to villages. For farmers who are unable to send their livestock to distant pastures, it is planned to create special camps right in the villages. Thus, owners will be able to drop off their animals in the morning and pick them up in the evening. Currently, the government is considering funding options for this initiative.

According to Torobaev, the total area of pastures in Kyrgyzstan is 9 million hectares, of which only 5 million are effective. The livestock population in the country is about 2 million head of cattle and 6 million head of small livestock.
