There is virtually no information about the new head of the State Security Service, Syrgak Berdikozhoev, in open sources; it is only known that he has experience working in law enforcement agencies.
The State Security Service has been formed on the basis of the Ninth Service of the GKNB and is directly subordinate to the president. According to the decree, the head of the service is appointed and dismissed by the head of state, while his deputies are approved upon the recommendation of the chairman.
The main task of the State Security Service will be to ensure the safety of protected facilities and individuals within the framework of its powers defined by law.
