At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Aigul Akhmedova proposed to change the existing rules regarding the mutual stay of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

According to the current regulations, which will come into effect on September 1, 2025, citizens of Kyrgyzstan can stay in Kazakhstan (and vice versa) for no more than 90 days within a six-month period.

It is important to note that the days of stay do not reset upon crossing the border, but accumulate. In order to "reset" the period, citizens must remain outside the country for at least three months.

Akhmedova emphasized that such restrictions create significant difficulties for those engaged in cross-border trade and maintaining business ties with neighboring countries.

In light of the above, the deputy appealed to the government with a request to reconsider these rules.
