The Central District Court of Seoul has issued a ruling in the case concerning the organization of a coup against Yoon Suk-yeol, the former president of South Korea. This was reported by the "Renhap" agency.

Although the prosecution sought the death penalty, the court ultimately sentenced the former president to life imprisonment.

Recall that in early December 2024, Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law, stating the need to "fight against anti-state forces supporting North Korea." This decision was in effect for only a few hours, after which parliament revoked it. As a result, impeachment proceedings were initiated against the president, and Yoon Suk-yeol was removed from office and subsequently arrested.
