Kyrgyzstan confirmed support for UN reforms at a meeting in Geneva

Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, held a meeting with the UN Secretary-General António Guterres as part of the Conference on Disarmament taking place in Switzerland. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the conversation, the parties discussed current and future directions of bilateral cooperation.

Both sides confirmed the importance of the UN's role in strengthening peace and responding to global challenges.

Kyrgyzstan expressed its readiness to continue constructive cooperation.

The diplomats paid special attention to the "UN-80" initiative aimed at increasing the efficiency and modernization of the organization.

Jeenbek Kulubaev expressed support for the ongoing reforms and readiness for joint work on their implementation.

The meeting also noted the active cooperation of the republic with UN agencies operating in Kyrgyzstan.

The Minister spoke about the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2026, as well as the VI World Nomad Games.

He also mentioned the preparation for the "Bishkek+25" summit, scheduled for 2027, and invited António Guterres to visit Kyrgyzstan to participate in these events.
