Luxury items previously seized during the investigation of Karim Massimov's case, the former head of the National Security Committee, were put up for sale at an electronic auction in Kazakhstan. According to information from Tengrinews.kz, the auction was organized by the Asset Recovery Management Company (KУВА).
The greatest interest among auction participants was generated by a samurai sword presented in its scabbard. The starting price of the lot was several hundred thousand tenge, but as a result of the bidding, its price reached 3,413,825 tenge, which is more than seven times the initial amount. Six participants competed for this unique steel blade with a decorated handle.
The second lot was a leather belt adorned with silver forging and made in a traditional style. Although its starting price was 183,750 tenge, during the bidding, which involved four people, it was sold for 524,261 tenge.
Both items were involved in the case as property seized from the mansion belonging to the former head of the National Security Committee. The funds obtained from the sale will be directed to the asset management fund returned to the state.
