On February 28, Israel, in conjunction with the United States, conducted strikes against Iran. Donald Trump expressed the intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response to these actions, Iran began striking Israel and other countries in the Middle East where U.S. military bases are located. Strikes were reported in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the U.S.-Israeli operation, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. His wife, Mansure Khodjaste, also died from her injuries.

Trump stated that the military campaign in Iran would last about four weeks. Iran has declared jihad against the U.S. and Israel, stating that there will be no negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East also affects other countries, including Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the escalation of the situation. Contact information for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
