“At the moment, many international airlines have suspended their flights to Iran or reduced their frequency, leading to constant changes in schedules. If you are unable to fly, there is an option to leave by land through neighboring countries.
For citizens of Kyrgyzstan, entry into Armenia and Turkey is possible without visas.
However, to enter Turkmenistan, it is necessary to contact the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in advance to obtain a visa and entry permit.
As of January 16, 2026, border crossing points are operational on the border of Iran with Afghanistan and Iraq. If you decide to visit these countries, you should apply for a visa in advance at the relevant diplomatic missions.”
In light of the above, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends considering alternative routes for departure. Currently, the land borders of Iran with Pakistan and Azerbaijan are closed.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan who need assistance to leave Iran are advised to provide the following information to the embassy or the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
— full name and contact details;
— a photograph of the passport page with personal data;
— planned border crossing point.
Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic planning a trip to Iran in the near future are recommended to postpone their plans until the situation in the country improves.
