He noted that the American president does not intend to initiate military actions against Iran, but Tehran is required to respect Washington's interests in the Middle East region.
However, The Wall Street Journal previously reported on the possibility of U.S. missile strikes against Iran from destroyers already sent to the area.
Donald Trump, for his part, clarified that "they have learned about the cessation of killings in Iran and that executions will not be carried out."
"I have been informed that executions in Iran have been suspended. They are over and will not continue. I have reliable sources that confirmed this information. If anything changes, it will be a disappointment for all of us," Trump said.
When asked whether this means a refusal of military intervention regarding Iran, the U.S. president replied that they will monitor the situation but have received positive signals from informed sources.
Earlier, the Reuters news agency pointed to possible U.S. strikes against Iran within the next 24 hours.
According to human rights defenders, the number of Iranian casualties during the protests may exceed 12,000.

The Iranian air defense is on high alert.
