Iranian authorities have announced an increase in the readiness of their air defense, as reported by Reuters.

In light of the escalating situation, the United Kingdom has decided to close its embassy in Tehran and evacuate all staff. Meanwhile, the United States is reducing the number of personnel at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, where about 10,000 military and civilian employees are stationed, making it one of the key American bases in the region.

Iranian authorities have also issued an official statement closing airspace to civilian airlines and warned of possible strikes on American military facilities in response to U.S. attacks.

According to Reuters reports, strikes by the U.S. against Iran are expected within the next 24 hours.

Earlier reports indicated that the number of fatalities resulting from protests in Iran could exceed 12,000 people.

The U.S. State Department has advised its citizens and citizens of allied states to leave Iran. When asked about possible assistance to the protesters, U.S. President Donald Trump stated, "Sorry, but you will have to deal with this on your own."

According to the latest data, protests are taking place in 585 locations across 186 cities, covering 31 provinces of Iran, with the number of detainees in the tens of thousands.

It is worth noting that the internet has been down in the country for almost a week, and authorities have shut down mobile communications. Mass protests, triggered by economic hardships and the decline of the national currency, have been ongoing since late December 2025.
