Ali Salehi, the prosecutor of Tehran, warned that participants in protests who cause harm to state and public property, as well as those who clash with law enforcement, may face the death penalty.

According to the judicial authorities of North Khorasan, prosecutor Ali Akbar Hosseinzadeh and several police officers died as a result of the arson of the building where they were located, which prevented emergency services from providing assistance.

During the protests that swept the country, several police officers were killed in Tehran, as reported by the Tasnim agency. In clashes in Qom province, two security personnel were killed, and in Kermanshah, two soldiers died. Also, in this city, a three-year-old girl was killed as a result of the violence, as reported by her father.

In Hamadan, the unrest resulted in the deaths of six people, although the names of the victims have not been disclosed.

Iranian media report significant damage to municipal and private property in Tehran and other cities. The mayor of the capital, Alireza Zakani, stated that protesters burned 25 mosques, damaged 26 banks, 3 medical centers, 10 government institutions, as well as numerous ambulances and fire trucks.

The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence urged the population to report any acts of sabotage and terrorist activities related to the U.S. and the Zionist regime, which, according to them, committed acts of shooting with the intent to kill.

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, stated that he would not yield to the protesters and accused them of having ties to the United States. He made this statement for the first time since the protests began, during which dozens of people have already died. Khamenei addressed his supporters on state television. It is important to note that the internet in the country has been completely shut down.

Mass protests in Iran, triggered by economic difficulties and the decline of the national currency, have been ongoing since late December 2025.
