Prince Reza Pahlavi, who is in exile, stated that his return to the Islamic Republic is possible in the near future. “A lot of time has passed, but I will be there (in Iran) soon,” he noted in an interview with Fox News. He also expressed his readiness to lead a transitional regime in the event of a change in power in Iran.

Reza Pahlavi is the son of the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was overthrown during the Islamic Revolution in 1979. At the time of his overthrow, he was only 19 years old and was studying to become a military pilot in the USA, where he continues to reside to this day.

Since early December, mass protests have erupted in Iran, triggered by the devaluation of the national currency and rising prices. Participants in the demonstrations are demanding a change in the political regime and the return of Reza Pahlavi to power. The prince has called for active measures to seize power. The Iranian authorities have accused the USA and Israel of organizing these disturbances.
