According to the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, the USA and Israel are the organizers of the unrest occurring in the country. This statement was made in an official publication by the state agency IRIB.

The message claims that the recent events, which began with peaceful protests, have become a threat to Iran's security under the control of the "Zionist enemy." It also notes that recent statements by Donald Trump indicate joint actions by these countries to destabilize Iranian society.

The Security Council emphasized that law enforcement agencies and judicial authorities no longer intend to show tolerance towards participants in protests and riots.

Protests in Iran began after calls from Reza Pahlavi, a descendant of the Shah who was overthrown in 1979. Social media has been filled with videos showing mass demonstrations that led to the destruction of private property and urban infrastructure.

Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani reported that during the unrest in the capital, 24 residential buildings, 25 mosques, two hospitals, and 26 banks were destroyed. Additionally, 48 fire trucks were burned, and demonstrators obstructed the work of firefighters and set fire to the prosecutor's car.

At the same time, the Iranian agency Fars describes the protests as "limited." Amid the unrest, the internet in the country was temporarily shut down, and media outlets suspended news publication for several hours. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei condemned the participants in the protests, calling them "a handful of vandals" who are destroying their own property.

The protests began in late December when there was a devaluation of the Iranian currency and sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate, which affected prices. Against this backdrop, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mohammad Farzin, resigned.

In some regions, protests escalated into clashes with the police and were accompanied by anti-political slogans. Reports indicated casualties among both security forces and protesters. According to the Tasnim agency, on Thursday, two officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed during the unrest.

According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency, at least 42 people have died as a result of the protests, and more than 2,270 have been arrested.
