A deputy voiced the problem of low salaries in the media sector
Saltanat Amanova, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, pointed out the issue of low salaries among journalists and emphasized the need for state support for this industry.
According to her information, media workers receive salaries ranging from 13,000 to 20,000 soms, with the maximum amount being 30,000. She noted that the low level of attention to journalism leads many professionals to switch to blogging, while genres such as investigative and traditional newspaper journalism begin to lose their significance.
“Only journalists can convey the truth with the necessary facts and statistical data, while we cannot rise to the level of bloggers,” Amanova noted.
In her opinion, it is necessary to reconsider the wage system for media workers and provide them with additional support, including solutions to housing issues.
