At a joint meeting of two deputy groups, Meder Chotonov expressed the need to enhance the prestige of the medical profession, urging the Ministry of Health to pay more attention to this issue.

He noted that despite the difficult working conditions and low salaries, medical workers also face insults and attacks from citizens.

“It is important for the Ministry of Health to work on improving the image of medical professionals. Through the media, we need to convey to people that medical workers deserve respect for their work,” Chotonov added.

In turn, Deputy Suyunbek Omurzakov supported his colleague, mentioning citizens' complaints about rudeness from medical staff.

“I understand that medical workers can be tired, but when a patient comes in, one can offer them water and have them sit down,” he noted.

Tilek Mamadaliev, Deputy Minister of Health, apologized on behalf of the doctors for instances of rudeness and recalled the words of Chingiz Aitmatov: “The most difficult thing for a person is to remain a human every day.”

“Some of our medical professionals do indeed bring shame to the profession, and we apologize for them. We will work on improving the situation,” Mamadaliev assured.
