The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has decided to amend Resolution No. 541 dated October 10, 2023, regarding the procedure for the stay of foreign citizens in the country.
According to the new document, the rules for the stay of foreigners are clarified, including the process for obtaining necessary permits and conditions for visa-free entry. In particular, foreigners arriving in the country without a visa can now apply to authorized bodies to formalize documents for legal stay.
Changes also affect certain categories of citizens. Ethnic Kyrgyz citizens and their families can legalize their status if they have the relevant documents, obtaining the right for a one-time entry within 30 working days.
The rules for obtaining short-term visas have also been rethought, which can be issued for a period of up to seven days through Manas International Airport or through the "Electronic Visa" portal, provided there is a corresponding application from licensed gambling establishments.
Specific conditions have been outlined for citizens of China, including tourist groups and residents of the special administrative regions of Macau and Hong Kong. Clear deadlines for visa-free stay and restrictions on extensions without the necessary documentation have been established for them.
The new rules will come into effect 10 days after publication.
