During the meeting, a draft law proposing the restoration of the recidivism institute was approved. Deputy Abdyladbek Egemberdiev pointed out that the project states that convicts with special recidivism will be sent to special regime institutions. He also inquired about the possibility of the GSIN accommodating all such prisoners, considering that there is only one institution of this type in the country.
Sarchayev added that if the law is approved, the prisoners will be held in the institution until the maximum limit is reached. In case of overcrowding, options for constructing a new building to accommodate additional convicts will be considered.
