At a meeting of the committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, the Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan, Samat Janteliyev, reported that at least 73 new schools, each designed for 1,000 students, are needed to meet the needs of the capital. This statement was made in the context of discussing a draft law on the ratification of a loan agreement with the Saudi Fund for Development for the project "Construction of Public Schools" Phase 2, signed on October 9, 2025, in Bishkek.

In response to deputies' questions about the lack of educational institutions in Bishkek, Janteliyev also emphasized that the urban territory is expanding as part of the administrative-territorial reform.

"As part of the second phase of the project, funded by Saudi Arabia, schools are planned to be built both in Bishkek and in the Chui region. Locations for construction have been agreed upon with the city's mayor's office and other competent authorities. After 2029, the implementation of the third phase is expected, during which the construction of educational institutions will continue across the country," he added.
