Today, a discussion took place in parliament, during which several deputies criticized the initiative for a 10-month training period to obtain a driver's license.

Bolot Ibraimov, one of the speakers, noted that they continue to receive numerous appeals regarding the reform of the issuance of driver's licenses.

He also emphasized that the head of the State Center for Vehicle Registration did not provide clear explanations about the necessity of this initiative. “Yesterday, I met with representatives of 100 private driving schools, and despite the invitation, the head of the state center did not come to clarify the situation. The problem with issuing licenses is not in the training process, but in corruption within government agencies. The Ministry of Internal Affairs should apologize to the people of Kyrgyzstan for corrupt actions, rather than support this initiative. Under the current conditions, government agencies look extremely unappealing. If the director of the state center cannot explain the essence of the reform, he should be replaced. This initiative is absolutely inappropriate,” he stated.

Other deputies also supported his opinion, arguing that even if the training lasts 100 years, the situation with the issuance of licenses will not change. “We need to fight corruption in government agencies, not increase the training period,” they added.
