In Manas, illegal missionary activities conducted by followers of the foreign religious movement "Furkan" were halted. This organization opposes secular policies and actively promotes Sharia law, reported the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

During the operation, 20 individuals were detained, among whom 6 are foreign nationals.

According to the investigation, "Furkan" chose the Jalal-Abad region as an experimental base for spreading its ideology and creating religious cells in the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.

The implemented measures allowed for the prevention of the establishment of one of the potential cells of undesirable religious organizations on the territory of the country.

Administrative fines have been imposed on the organizers and participants of the illegal missionary activities, and measures are currently being taken to ensure compliance with the laws "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations" and other legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The GKNB also warns citizens about the possible criminal liability for participating in illegal missionary activities.
